Baptism part 1.

Romans 6:1-14

In today’s discussion, we are going to look at the word “Baptism” and how it is used in the scripture.

If you are thinking of baptism, as being immersed in water, or just: an outward expression of an inward experience, then you are going to have some problems with Romans 6 and other verses also. Immersion in water is a type of symbolism. It is only one example of baptism. If our understanding of baptism is not complete, you may be struggling in understanding what the Bible is actually saying in Romans 6.

We cannot build our faith on uncertainty, guessing or on shifting sand.  when life’s battles are pressing in, we need a solid foundation.   A solid foundation is built upon a solid rock! That rock is Jesus Christ!  and Jesus is the word of God, made flesh, and dwelt among us!

Here is an example of trusting in things, that are not in harmony with Gods word. Including not understanding “Baptism”!

Just imagine, leaving this world at the point of death, and go rejoicing to the throne of God, expecting to have a victorious entrance into the kingdom! And then, in that hour that can never be reversed, find yourself being rejected!

While the angles drag you to the pit: You will surely say: “What happened?”

Many people fail to see, that Satans stronghold of ownership on their soul, is the false or twisted ideas he has planted in their minds!  They thought and believed one thing, but discovered quite another! And the results were eternal loss!

It did not have to be that way, but they failed to read the word of God for themselves! Or they refused to take off their personal-colored glasses of opinion and pre-conceived ideas! They let others lead them and they followed. They accepted the words and teachings of others, based upon the acceptance of the one who told them! but that is a detour of satan, to by-pass the word of God! It is not the character or integrity of the speaker that counts! It is the entire word of God that we must give heed to!

The speaker’s integrity and character are important, but it is not the final question! the final question is what about God!

Unfortunately, they discovered too late: the difference between: religious concepts and jargon, as opposed to biblical truths.

Satan planted a deceived concept in the mind of EVE, way back there in the beginning, and she believed it! We all know the results! They lost paradise and all hope of going back! They were Rejected! Adam and Eve will spend eternity, Realizing their error and the power of deception!  And Satan is still doing it today! Deception, has served him very well!

Our defense is to READ THE BIBLE FOR OUR SELF! Know what it says, and understand it.

I have great and wonderful news for all of us today! That does not have to be our experience!

This word “Baptized”, means to “enter into”. We can “enter into” the things Jesus did for us.

We have the Words, teaching, instructions, and guidance of God to guide us!  It will expose all deceptions and remove Satan’s stronghold of deception and ownership. All through the power of Gods holy word!

The Holy spirit will guide you and lead you, if you let him! But we must allow the holy spirit to lead us!

Jesus Christ is still the answer to this wicked and fallen world! Satan lost at the cross and he is still losing today!

It is for anyone willing to read and believe Gods holy word!

You do not have to live in:

  1. the defeats of sin!
  2. fear of death.
  3. Slavery to addictions
  4. Uncertainty
  5. Shame or Fear of being found out
  6. Spiritual squalor
  7. Darkness and deception.

I tell you, there is a whole new world of:

  1. Victory over sin
  2. Happiness
  3. The peace of knowing
  4. The light of God on your pathway
  5. Triumph over the grave
  6. A calm and assurance in every storm
  7. A testimony of Glory on your life.

I am telling you by way of experience, not theology!

  1. There is a higher plane!
  2. It is the holy way of God.
  3. the victors circle,
  4. the path of the righteous and the blessed!
  5. It is a path of joy bells and singing!
  6. It is the high road in life!
  7. The peace and presence of God every day!
  8. A place of fellowship without shadows.
  9. a place of worship and singing and praise
  10. A place of prayer and happiness with rest.
  11. Contentment and light and hope
  12. A place invisible to the world
  13. It can only be seen through the life of you!

Do not listen to the seeds of Satans deception!

Do not let him get a stronghold on your soul!

Do not follow his humanistic, selfish, proud, sensual, arrogant, stubborn, and worldly ways!

Those are strongholds of Satans ownership!

Run from the darkness,

Flee to the cross!

escape the wrath to come!

Do not settle for the gloom and darkness of the grave!

There is a light just ahead!

Christ rejects no-one in this life!

If we think water baptism saves us, then we are trusting in the water, Or the ceremony of baptism! Or perhaps, who is baptizing us. BUT: THAT SAVES NO-ONE!

It is like trusting in our own self-righteous act of being Immersed!  Saved by works? No.

Saved by a ceremony? No.

Or saved by self-righteous? Never.

water baptism is a testimony, that Jesus has saved us! By his blood we are forgiven, by his death, we are delivered from the power of sin, by his resurrection, we are given new life!

How to apply the word of God!

HOW? We entered into the works of Jesus, when we believed in Gods word that tells us all about what he did and why:

  • We wanted that experience for ourselves in this life:
  • Asked God to save us by applying what Jesus did on the cross,
  • and accept it as true!
  • Then started obeying the bible!

You are not going to find it easy at first.

  • But by asking God for help, (called praying)
  • remembering what God said in his word about your situation,
  • then wait for Gods power to strengthen you beyond your own abilities!
  • Victory!

But we must listen to what the Holy spirit is telling us! Follow Him! He will lead you out! The spirits leading will ALWAYS be in harmony with Gods word!

The more you do this, the more you grow spiritually, and the stronger you become! Instead of satan causing you so much grief, you will be causing him a lot of grief! By the power of Christ and the power of his word, and our obedience to it!

He did it for us! So, we could have a part in it! That is why I encourage everyone to READ THEIR BIBLE!

Start by reading romans chapter6!

If you really want to find God, have his power in your life, and live a life of happiness and contentment WITHOUT SIN!

Read your bible!

Learn how to apply it! Then you can live it, forever!

With the understanding that baptism means to enter into, read romans 6 below.  If the things Jesus did for you, is what you’re looking for, And seeing how to apply it. (above), then you can find God, the power of his word, and the glory of His Son!

Rom 6:1  What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Rom 6:2  God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?

Rom 6:3  Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?

Rom 6:4  Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.

Rom 6:5  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:

Rom 6:6  Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Rom 6:7  For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Rom 6:8  Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:

Rom 6:9  Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.

Rom 6:10  For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.

Rom 6:11  Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Rom 6:12  Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Rom 6:13  Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Rom 6:14  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Rom 6:15  What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

Rom 6:16  Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

Rom 6:17  But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

Rom 6:18  Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Rom 6:19  I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

Rom 6:20  For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

Rom 6:21  What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

Rom 6:22  But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

Rom 6:23  For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
