I had a lot of problems.
Hurts all from the past.
I put them in a little box.
And locked the box up fast.
As time went by, I added more.
My box grew so much bigger.
life seemed so unfair to me
My heart became so bitter.
I tried to act like all was well.
But Peace I could not find.
I rejected those who tried to say,
The problem all was mine.
My scars and stripes were very real.
My pain became my pleasure.
I wore them all like a polished badge,
My shame I could not messure.
I really thought I had them hid.
From wise and searching eyes.
But all the time, I later found, they saw through my disguise.
Their hearts were breaking o’er my pain.
It seems their hands were tied.
Deep inside, my heart was cold.
I pushed it all aside.
Those precious saints who tried to help,
They thought all was lost.
Their tears and prayers reached heavens throne.
I was forced to count the cost.
My family, I had hurt so much.
My heart began to ache.
The hound of heaven got on my trail.
My heart began to break.
The love of God, reached the devils den.
Where my wretched soul did lye.
His love broke through my wall of hate,
The fault all was mine.
Oh how I cried for fear of him.
Who now stood at my side.
Surly this was the end.
Surly I must die .
His voice so full of love and hope,
His nail scarred hand reached out!
I’ve come down here, to hearts so dark.
I’ve come to lead you out!
Oh how I fell at his feet, I would not let him go.
I wept so hard, I could not talk .
I was trembling on my knees .
Then I felt his tears of love, as they fell down upon me.
The Son God, so pure and clean.
Should come to rescue me!
He picked me up, he held me tight.
I felt his tears so warm.
He carried me far, from that place, safe in the Saviours arms!
When you think all is lost. You think there is no light.
Hold on in prayer, for those you love.
Hold on with all your might.
The Vail is rent, to the mercy seat.
The Savoiur is waiting there.
Though all seems dark to your eyes.
Hold on, hold on, in prayer.
There are places and scenes, you cannot go.
Hidden from our eyes.
But when He rises from his throne,
He’s gone to those hidden sights.
When you wonder what’s that’s sound.
Falling faintly on your ears.
Look to the hills. And you will see, the answer to your prayers.
The sound grows louder, as they come,
The glory fills the air.
You will see the Saviours face, with joy flowing tears!
The Shepherd longs to find the lost.
He leaves the ninty and nine.
Hold on in prayer, for those you love.
Don’t cast your faith to swine.
Time has turned the pages fast. Our time down here is short.
Be assured my faithful friend.
The Saviour finds you out!
My box is gone.
The joy bells ring.
I gave up all my dross.
my heart and life were forever changed,
When I knelt down at the Cross!
